You Can Be Successful as A Hosting Reseller

The hosting industry has grown steadily over the past few years. Hosting providers come in all different shapes and sizes. Many individuals have a desire to start their own hosting company. There are some hosting companies that offer shared hosting, or dedicated hosting, reseller plans, or a combination of various forms of hosting. If you are just starting out in the hosting business, you may want to consider being a reseller. You will purchase web space from a hosting provider and then “rent” space to your own customers.

One of the main benefits to being a reseller is that you can do so with very little overhead. You will not need to buy servers, hosting software, hardware and other equipment. There will not be a need for a data center. In fact, you can run your hosting business from your home computer.

It is possible to be a successful hosting reseller. Here is an example of how you can make a profit: If you purchase 1000 MB of space at a cost of $25 per month, you may decide to sell 25MB of space for $5 a month. This means your revenue would be $200 each month and a profit of $175. Of course you can buy as much space as you would like and split up that space to sell to many customers. You need to plan carefully to make sure you are allowing for a reasonable profit.

Some hosting providers will even allow you to oversell the space you purchased for them. They will not charge you additional fees, unless the space used by your customers exceeds the amount you have purchased. You can earn additional money by selling more than the space you have purchased (as long as you do not actually exceed this amount). Keep in mind that most customers do not use all the space that is included with their plan.

Your reseller account can earn you a constant income. You buy a reseller account from a hosting firm, and they take care of the rest. You will not need to maintain or monitor servers and other equipment. Your main focus will be selling hosting space. By recruiting other hosting resellers you can earn even more money. Some companies will pay you a commission on monthly sales for any resellers you bring to their company.

Being a hosting reseller provides you with a way earn an income without having a great deal of money or technical knowledge to start a company. You can also be more flexible than hosting firms. Different hosting providers use different software and hardware. They also offer various applications and features. At some point in time you may find the host you work with does not offer what your customers need. You can easily become a reseller for a different company so you can better serve clients.

Becoming a successful reseller is possible. Take your time to compare the prices and features of reseller accounts with various providers. Find a quality hosting package that will allow you to offer your customers reliable and affordable services. Remember the quality of the services provided by the hosting firm will be a reflection on your own business.
